Billionaires own the way most people in the US (the world too) consume their news.
Fox News has been the most-watched news station in the USA for 22 years, trailed distantly by MSNBC and CNN. I very much agree this is the main reason. They’ve been crafting narratives that speak directly to conservatives fears, and keep them in a constant state of panic/hate so that they will vote squarely against their own interests when they elect the guy Fox tells them will solve their problems.
“That’s not lava because it has a surface temperature below 600°” or some obscure geologist/volcanologist rule.
I love the idea that non-geologists/volcanologists don’t get the same immunity buffs when attempting to walk on lava, only the true practitioners can do it

No better way to expose your opposition than to… Pretend to be them and shoot a film under that pretense?! I know genuine creativity is something conservatives are generally incapable of, but it’s at satire levels now. They can’t make a compelling argument for anything they stand for because the truth would lose them support
See how many words and how much energy it takes to properly explain the situation thoughtfully? The morons spreading those falsehoods don’t need to expend nearly as much time/energy because they’re just lying.
It’s at the point now that conservatives are willing to accept anything in place of the truth as long as it suits their agenda. Guess they could be called “Not-Sees” given their tendency to embrace blatant lies while ignoring obvious and clear truths.
This really does seem like the endgame for all collectibles–to eventually get capitalized to the point that outsiders come in and start speculating/buying out new releases/limited editions solely to flip for profit.
In plenty of cases I’ve seen, they never even have the product in their hands–they’ll just transfer the order to the highest bidder. I guess it’s the nature of collectibles and limited-edition stuff, but it just takes away the fun for a lot of the people who enjoy the hobby/collectibles/etc… it’s kinda deflating when you can’t even get the item without paying a premium to some rando that has no interest in it first (instead of just paying the vendor/manufacturer directly at their list price).

Which platform? That’s one of my all-time favorite games. Love the graphics, the music, the gameplay, the weirdness, the difficulty–it’s the real deal and I’ll always remember the first time i found one to play in an arcade at Hershey Park in the late 80’s…

The Avalon is the Toyota-branded version of the Lexus ES300/ES350 series (Lexus is Toyota’s luxury brand), very nice and very reliable (and fairly unremarkable too, which i kinda dig tbh)
