  • Lots of good answers so far. From my experience, most people know what the fuck to do or at least they know they have a few options, so they don’t need me to tell them how to solve their problem.

To specifically answer your question… sitting there listening allows you to figure out if the person needs to vent, talk out their options, validation about their reaction, validation for their own solution, social connection, to know they have a support system in you, encouragement, and sometimes, yes, advice or a solution. So to assume it’s only a solution they want leaves out a whole host of other possible reasons they might come to you. “I know I just need to send an email, I just wanted to removed about my boss being a bag of dicks”.

To maybe take this a step further. I think console (or PC or Mac for that matter) exclusives are fine for sone of the reasons you outlined. I see a lot of hate for this primarily among redditors. I do not feel like a console company paying a game developer or buying a studio to develop a game exclusively for them is bad for the industry. Especially if they’re doing it well. I recognize that there are companies out there that are using this method and harming the industry.

Sony has been killing it in the exclusives department for years now and it’s honestly great to see. I have a buddy who works for one of their studios and it seems pretty good on their end too. They’re pretty hands off. The model seems to be to have talented developers put their vision on the Playstation and stay out of the way.

For context. I don’t need to play EVERY amazing game. Nor do have the time.

  • Yeah, she might need someone to work on a costume for her. As I understand it (as just an instagram follower) cosplay isn’t something she does a ton of. It seems like mostly cool Halloween costumes.

There’s a couple cool youtube videos of bodybuilder, James Hollingshead, cosplaying as Kratos at comicon. He gets professionally done up and it looks like a lot of fun (https://youtu.be/lrGU77uf4Ic)

It’d be a lot of fun to see Jessica professionally done up as an action heroine at a comicon. She could be a real life she-hulk or wonder woman.
