Divorce rates relate new marriages and divorces. In Portugal divorces have increased but even more importantly, new marriages have dropped a lot. That is the cause of the high divorce rate.
As to why people get divorce I’d venture a guess of economic reasons. Portuguese are quite poor, particularly in the European context, and life has gotten even harsher this last decade. That breaks a lot of people.
Natality rates are also low. Fewer babies, fewer reasons to stick together.
Still, as I said, there’s no reason to be cynical about monogamy, love and marriage. Many people make it work very well.
Just because you don’t see it around you doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. I’m from Portugal which has even higher divorce rates, and yet 90% of couples I know got together and stayed together and have absolutely stable family lives. The idea that it cannot be done(unless it’s done with no effort) is the main reason most couples fail to do it.
They went to the stock chart, picked the latest peak, and wrote the article of doom. It’s down 20% a year ago, but up 20% for the last 6 months, and up 119% YTD.
Not that Tesla doesn’t have its ills or seems to be stagnating, but picking points in a chart is a feeble argument.
It burned the color out.
It’s a bold strategy, Cotton!

Both developers have created a parrot tool. A utility to plagiarise a style.
AI isn’t doing anything creative. These tools are merely ways to deliver the information you put into it in a way that’s more natural and dynamic. There is no creation happening. The consequence is that you either pay for use of content, or you’ve basically diminished the value of creating content and potentiated plagiarism at a gargantuan level.
Being that this “AI” doesn’t actually have the capacity for creativity, if actual creativity becomes worthless, there will be a whole lot less incentive to create.
The “utility” of it right now is being created by effectively stealing other people’s work. Hence, the court cases.
How many advances were considered against social norms…?
Same. And I’m quite happy with the reduced time. When I tried to quit reddit cold turkey I found myself back almost immediately. But lemmy is a nice substitute. Content gets replaced at a slower rate, moderation is looser or less annoying. Fewer bot nonsense. And tough there is a crowd here on lemmy spewing a lot of nonsense, I almost prefer that they never get concealed. Shows more truly the divide on the issues. I almost don’t want lemmy to grow to Reddit size, tough I feel it might, with time.
Yes, this is quite homely.
Is it? Everyone knows how authoritarian China is. Apple cannot show China as being hypocritical, because they are consistently against privacy…Britain on the other hand: talks one way, and then acts another.

It’s mostly all Debian based, so it matters little.
That’s true of nearly all loading bars.
Because throwing a paper ball into the bin( or the near floor) is far easier than a flat piece of paper.
