Try living in town and not a suburb. That’s what I’m talking about. Not just walking in neighborhood streets, but actual thoroughfares with no sidewalks. Or maybe just imagine you don’t have all the information about the whole world and your experience isn’t indicative of everyone else’s.

It may not be feasible to walk to houses in all neighborhoods. We don’t have sidewalks and to get from one street to the next would require crossing pretty heavily trafficked roads. Trunk or treat can be a safe alternative to that.

Your comment reeks of boomerism “back in my day”. Let people do what they gonna do if it’s not hurting anyone else.

  • Neurotypical is the word you’re looking for. Where do you slot ADHD folks in the autism vs allism spectrum? Because if it’s the latter that’s not fair to those of us with adhd and if it’s the former then it’s neurodivergence which……already has a counterpart.

My point is autism is a defined thing. Allism is not having the thing. But my original comment still remains the use of allism generally comes with a negative connotation. Whether that’s part of the denotation makes no difference.

EDIT to add I’m an atheist. There is no word for me not being catholic though. I’m also not Baptist or Muslim. But I don’t need a descriptor for each one. Where you fall in the divergence spectrum is categorized but not falling in there already has a designation. Hope that clears up my point.
