I always use TinEye for reverse image searching: https://tineye.com/
I agree. The budget snack items like chocolate, chips and so on have, in my opinion, lost a lot of quality; they taste a lot greasier, have worse “mouth-feel”, or are just sugar with less aroma depending on the product. I also buy less, but higher quality stuff now in comparison to 20 years ago. (Central Europe here)
I had the same plan as you have, switching when win10 goes EOL. but since Microsoft decided that they would backport stuff like ads in the start menu, i just switched.
I’m a gamer, so i decided to give nobara a shot. it works really fine, and i have found only one game so far that didn’t work. Lutris and heroic launcher is everything you need, i do have the VM but i haven’t spun it up since i finished the configuration :-) a few hours in and i decided that i won’t need my windows partition anymore.
If you have a few hours spare time, give it a spin, you’ll be surprised how good gaming has gotten under linux :-)
to be fair, most of those “backups” are played once, if they suck they get thrown off instantly and if they are good they stay until the price point in the store doesn’t pain me anymore. so it’s really just a temporally displaced backup, you are right :-)
ETA: “Doesn’t pain me” depends on the content: i did not shy back from buying for example Baldurs Gate 3 at full price. Indie devs normally get full price and automatically bought DLCs too, but i’m not into throwing my cash after the Bethesdas and EAs of the gaming world.
My Steam Deck has a 512GiB SD card full of pirated games using lutris and sega genesis and nintendo ds roms on it. it is more comfortable to just buy stuff and play, which i do with titles that are worth it (thats the internal memory for), but you are not limited in any way (except that it has to work on linux)
i switched to a SearXNG instance a while ago and i am pretty happy with it!
look at https://searx.space/ to find one with a good response time for you and try out if theres something you like :-)
Since i’m a sucker for weird games and very bad at following simple rules i wishlisted your new game lol
regarding the large download, there is a girl which is very fit and likes compression a lot which reduced the total download size to 38 gb, if that helps. also, you can reinstall from that as often as you like without redownloading.
Nobara! switched 2 days ago, deleted my Windows partition 3 hours ago because it’s smooth sailing and quite the different experience compared to bashing my head against debian jessie ages ago.
Edit: the final nail in the coffin were the fking backported ads in the start menu. seriously, wtf.
thats the reason why i always open links with middle click to open a new tab. helps with the above fuckery too.
i would say Oxygen not included has the largest amount of mods with the most impact of the Klei games - Don’t Starve has some nice mods too though
it’s “Akku”(s) or “Akkus”(p) in german :-)
i’ll just add a few i haven’t seen yet:
Since it’s [email protected], it would be illegal to be dishonest.
I’ll see myself out.
Fury Unleashed 2,92€ instead of 19,50€.
Metroidvania with roguelike elements and metaprogression. Graphics are timeless (the game plays inside of a comic book, which is a nice change), very tight gameplay, tons of weapons and cool bosses.
Smooth working 2-Player-Coop!
Jupiter Hell, 8,39€ instead of 20,99€.
Spiritual successor to DoomRL. a turnbased roguelike that doesn’t feel turnbased, with smooth animation and fast gameplay. 3 different classes with a lot of gamechanging perks, tons of guns and heaps of demons, what else could someone want?
That gave a really nice overview for someone who hasn’t had to dabble in IPV6 yet, thanks!
I saw it free right now and wanted to inform you lol :-)
As i am currently cursed with a cold myself…
I HATE COLDS
i would rather have a broken leg or something, everytime some stupid virus finds my its way into my nose i am a fucking wreck for 4 days, while my wife just shrugs off the same goddamn virus with ease.
She’s always laughing at me when i have a cold, because it really fucks me up beyond all recognition. she simply cannot understand why a bit of a cold has such a profound effect on men.
neither can i.
