    1. I think both Kira and Gwyn seem pretty down to earth and would have interesting stories and opinions on various topics. Not overly dramatic nor boring. Would know when to shut up. I would enjoy hearing advice Kira would give to Gwyndala as a young woman growing into her own. Neither companion would be overly boastful, maybe a tad critical, but their struggles bring an interesting angle on how they view life.

  • More BG3. Major irl setback my co-op game with my husband and we are only halfway through act 2 in our primary game and act 1 in our “evil” game. I have been casually playing solo on my neutral and evil campaigns, but refuse to go past where we are in our co-op. Really want to experience the game together before I do it solo. It has been a good bonding experience that has increased our relationship happiness. (We’re constantly looking for hobbies we enjoy together but somehow keep missing the mark. BG3 currently fits the bill for both of us). Until another worthy game comes out or I get bored of exploring all the BG3 classes, races, and dialogue options this is my jam. Haven’t even explored the mods yet. It is so vast. I feel like this will be my primary game for a while.

  • Trying to become a more “active” listener. My brain tends to want to immediately come up with a response without fully waiting to hear the whole conversation. Hence often, I speak before I think and/or before the person I was listening to was finished talking. I am trying to quiet my brain until the speaker finishes their commentary before I pause and work on a thoughtful reply as opposed to blurting out the first thing that comes to my mind.

  • I feel a part of it is similar to anger of the natural process of grieving. Many of us spent years contributing to the platform and enjoyed just spending time with other like-minded members of subreddits. I personally loved reading the chains of comments. Reddit was a great source of pleasure; a place for sharing humor, frustrations, and other random cool things. Much of what made it enjoyable, including he third party apps, was taken away in a fashion that felt like the user base was betrayed, hence the utter vehement expression of some former users. It will pass in time.

  • I tried kbin and lemmy, and although initially it was harder to find communities as new instances were popping up and growing, ye overall feel of lemmy was more compatible to how I felt using reddit. Being a Sync user, Jerboa and wefwef (and the other developing apps) were just a bonus. Once I learned how to use lemmy, I felt it was more intuitive than the kbin interface.

The fact that multiple people came together to work on the code, provide instances for users, and commitment to continuous improvement keeps me in the lemmy game. While I know ernest@kbin is doing a great job, I feel the nature of multiple instances in the fediverse gives lemmy an advantage.

But that’s just my experience and opinion. Just happy the fediverse exists despite whichever platform users choose as their primary access to it and thankful for all who have contributed to its growth and development.

  • Make sure to select your language for your post. I know it seems like it should be intuitive, but atm it is still giving people problems. Also check to see under your user settings that you have english (or whichever languages) selected you want to see/read/use. Communities with the same names do not share comments on different servers. Each one is their own entity. You can choose to participate in any or all.
