No, it was exactly that. When my neck taped in over 19, it was the first time I had ever not been on PT watch. I had to do higher frequency PT testing. It was dumb.

It’s military standards and boot camp. It has literally nothing to do with perception. Look at drill for a fraction of a second while standing at attention and he will berate you endlessly for trying to suck him off with your eyes. Your bootlace is dragging because you’re dumb. You’re tired because you’re weak. And you are the fattest motherfucker in this universe because you stood in front of the cake in the chow line for too long. It’s not about perception. It’s just basic. Even in active duty today, he would still be considered overweight, and even if he passed the PT test it wouldn’t protect him from getting chaptered out for fitness.
6’ 5", 200#, according to the Army, I was overweight by 15 lbs. I ran A group most mornings in PT (fastest, farthest runners), ran low 6 min miles, maxed situps and still had to wait 40 seconds for the test to end. Pushups were always low but fuck off, soy alto. I started lifting, gained 50 lbs, and my neck grew to 19"+ and all of the sudden I was “fit”, even though I couldn’t run A group anymore, couldn’t break 7 min miles, and barely finished the situps in time. No improvement on pushups so don’t stop fucking off. It’s just military standards. It has literally nothing to do with perception. And people were fat before the 80s, JTFC did I just have to say that? Sure, there are more today, but it’s not like Pvt Pyle was broadly considered obese by civilians at the time. The people ITT… 🙄
Yeah, that’s what it did on sync. But it looks legit in FF.

How bout this? Sync doesn’t support subscript so I’m not sure how this looks.
Opened in browser, superscript looks better, still jacked in sync tho.
No one seems to be talking about it, but at least for me, this is easily the most underrated silent hill game, and my personal favorite. Leaving yourself a note slipped under the door??? I got goosebumps.
Small down payment at best.
Contrary to what others have said, my insurance IS covering my K treatment, but it wasn’t recommended until I completed some long avoided therapy. You really only have to worry about permanent mood changes if you are manic/bipolar, otherwise no worries.
Filter Queen is the only US manufacturer that I know of that makes a decent canister. And also has a very simple circuit. Cord to switch to motor. Also pricey but that fucker just doesn’t quit. I know people that have had one for 20 years, and other than a slight design change in the last decade, they all mostly use identical parts.
Everyone seems to be missing the point so I’ll let Todd Howard remind you all, “We’re going to be doing a lot of add-on content for Starfield.”
$5 horse armor folks. That’s Bethesda. Stop paying them to make garbage, or at least stop complaining about it.
I get that, but here we are. It’s something I want to do. I’ve been at it for 6 months and I’ve managed to get the site working twice, but am still struggling with SMTP. Digital ocean blocks smtp and send grid breaks the site.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Oh yes, I’ve been using the ansible method of deploying and I have it very close, I just can’t get SMTP working. I’ve set up an account with send grid but letsencrypt keeps telling me I’ve passed the limit for certs and every time I try to deploy it says I have to wait another week to try. I would remove certs but since I’ve already wiped those out, I don’t know what they are or how to find them.
Self hosting, at least for lemmy, is absolute trash. I have been told a few times when asking questions that, “it is expected that you are thoroughly experienced with Linux” to be able to follow the mediocre guides. And they are trash if you are a newbie.
So people like me, who would love to use Lemmy for non Linux things, am posting almost entirely about Linux problems.
This, the don't just rip off framing every time they need to replace it. There will be some way to access it. When I traveled for work, I had a tool bag for a few things, chiefly the thermostat.
For those co-workers who have boats, you likely don’t have the full picture of their finances.
Yeah yeah yeah, I get it. I mean, I promise it’s you who doesn’t have the full picture - I live in Alaska, there are no cheap boats up here, there are no cheap houses, there are no cheap hobbies, etc. - you don’t qualify for all of those things without the ability make at least the minimum payments. Nevertheless, you missed the point. I didn’t have the credit to get a single snow machine or motorcycle, let alone enough of them to also need a toy hauler to tote them around. There is a vast difference between struggling to make rent, and being able to acquire myriad recreational vehicles regardless of how “paper thin you may feel their outward appearing lives are”. And the difference in experience and skill was not that much. I had to teach those idiot x genrs how computers work and a few of them still today “don’t use email”. So I’m just not buying the “evaluation” argument. I know what they brought to the table, because I was the asshole fixing their sloppy ass work.
My god man, you are missing the point. You seem to only see my problems through the lens of your own life, which sounds like it has been mostly affordable. That’s my point. You have grown out of touch. Things are not affordable. I’m not talking about fucking jet skis. I’m talking about groceries and rent.
JFC, I had to live out of my occasionally running car for two years and I’m getting boomersplained about perspective. 🙄
I mean, ReVanced, but yes. No way I’d pay for that shit.
Lol, night shift in the lab, we watched the shit out of youtube.
This is a very convenient trick for some with ADHD. A known distraction can drown out the noise that would otherwise be very distracting. When I listen to podcasts, I work about 3 times faster. And my current boss was so pleased with my work that he put a TV in my shop, for me to use while I work. I don’t use it because, these days, I prefer podcasts and audiobooks, but I do put on sports games because that’s what he likes to see. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
###As others have said, fight for more pay and benefits and fuck everything else.
FTFY 😂 Honestly, I’m amazed how few people get this very basic concept.
I don’t know why they just wouldn’t make it attractive to stay.
I don’t get it. I don’t think I ever will.
Every single job I have left is because I literally couldn’t afford to stay. I know you want to pin the phenomena on some obscure difference in generational ideology. It’s not that difficult. It’s not that obscure. We grew up in places we will never afford. You come from a generation that could pay 100% for college with a summer job, and you turned around and added a requirement for a college degree just to get that summer job which now days doesn’t even cover the rent.
Pay has dropped relative to cost of living year over year since the 90s. I couldn’t get my employers to give me raises just to match inflation. And still, I hear boomers crowing about how uncommitted millennials and zoomers are from their half a million dollar homes. My gen x coworkers owned boats and I was struggling to make the rent.
The problem here is not that younger generations aren’t capable of committing, it’s that older generations have grown out of touch with modern day cost. Some boomer rear ended me last year and was furious that I wouldn’t take his $150. He laughed when I told him his insurance would give me $2k easily. They paid out $2800. I am honestly still confounded how far out of reality you’d have to be to think that a bumper would only cost $150. You could argue that he was only trying to cheat me but that only proves my point more that us getting royally fucked by older generations is not from our own doing.
My favorite was finding out that bit locker was enabled on a forced update. The key was saved to the Microsoft account that was used to set up the lappy. Except, I didn’t use a Microsoft account because I’m not some tech marionette lemming who needs Gates hand shoved up my ass to tell me how to use my fucking computer. So I used a local account and disabled bitlocker via bios.
Nothing was lost, but it was still a pain in the dick hole.
