There’s consciousness and its content.
I prioritize ethics over optics even if it means facing criticism.
Sharing my honest beliefs, welcoming constructive debates, and embracing the potential for evolving viewpoints. Independent thinker navigating through conversations without allegiance to any particular side.
There’s consciousness and its content.
RIP apetor. Drowned while filming a YouTube video.
We don’t have free will but we have the experience of freedom.
Aspect often left out in this discussion is the rather apparent fact that “self” is an illusion. There’s no “you” in a sense that there’s this some kind of immaterial being that’s living behind your face, looking out in the world and making decisions. There’s just consciousness and its content. The sense of self is an appereance in consciousness. We experience the world from our individual perspective and it creates the illusion of there being a self that’s authoring all our thoughts and actions but there zero evidence of such thing existing. In fact according to split-brain studies it seems like your brain hemispheres don’t even agree with eachother.
The fact that you use their services despite claiming to oppose them probably tells more about how you really feel than your words do. You’re benefiting from their abusive business model the same whey they themselves are. Justifying the continued use of their services by not paying is just a cope to deal with the cognitive dissonance.
I’ll buy premium when they finally manage to either prevent adblocking entirely or make it sufficiently inconvenient. Stopping using YouTube is not an option for me and neither is watching ads. YouTube (along with porn) is the internet for me. If I’m not viewing either content, I’m probably not on my computer.
Hell, I don’t even blame them. I can’t morally justify blocking ads and viewing their content for free. I do it because it’s easy and I get away with it. I don’t believe in ads-based business model and that basically leaves subscribtion as the only viable alternative. Not paying and still using the service isn’t exactly practicing what I preach.
That’s what SponsorBlock already does. It however doesn’t detect the sponsor but instead it jumps over a part of the video marked with timestamp but with different people seeing different lenght ads, these timestamps no-longer match.
I like this kind of pictures. Someone should come up with a name for them. Here’s few similar kind of ones:
Ofcourse it’s photoshopped. There are virtually no digital photographers who release unedited photos. There’s always adjustments done to exposure, shadows/highlights, contrast, white balance etc.
However if you’re implying that it’s obvious to you that this has been faked then I’d love to hear your reasoning as I’m quite experienced photo editor myself and nothing stands out to me and I feel like my 15+ years of experience has trained me to spot such things.
The only thing I’m noticing is the difference in the color of the sky behind the branches but that can probably be explained by the fact that this was likely taken with a smartphone and is due to it combining multiple exposures for higer dynamic range, commonly known as HDR.
It’s attached by two “leashes” and if you yank it a bit the other rips off making it pretty much what you described but it’ll still tangle all over your face when you try to drink straight from the bottle and also now you have the sharp bit poking you every time you screw and unscrew the cap. This is not the only design we have. I just happen to shop at LIDL and their bottles are all like this. Some other designs are slightly better.
Camera almost never can reproduce the image as our eyes see it. The dynamic range for example is vastly superior on eyes compared to a camera meaning that in some cases an HDR photo may infact more closely resemble the reality despite looking unnatural compared to a non-HDR photo.
My pocket knife aswell. I used to recycle 100% of my plastic bottles before. Now I recycle 99.8% as there’s always this tiny piece that I cut off and throw in the trash. Same as that metal clip on lighters that’s supposed to stop children from being able to ignite them. It’s the first thing I rip off when I buy a new one.
The cap pokes my face if I try to drink from it without tearing it off. When I tear it off there’s then a sharp edge that pokes my hand every time I open or seal it.
I hate this so much. I swear I have never in my life returned a bottle without the cap. How would you even lose it in the first place? What psycho opens a bottle and discards the cap? Now my pocket knife usage has increased 300% as I’m cutting this sharp plastic thinghy away every time and I’m creating way more plastic waste than ever before. I agree with a lot what the EU does but this is idiotic.
Yeah I charge 50€/h (incl. VAT) as an home improvement contractor and it’s a fair price. For 35€/h I’d be basically doing charity.
I brought up the roof knocking because it’s what Israel does aswell as dropping leaflets and sending text messages and making phone calls before the strikes. This goes against all the accusations about genocide and intentionally targeting civilians. It would be quite cynical to think that this all is just a cover up so that they can continue with their plan of murdering every single Palestinian. I’m just not buying that. The high number of civilians in that area are a huge inconvenience for Israel and killing them is extremely bad PR. They know this and Hamas knows it aswell.
For the high number of civilians killed I think the most simple explanation is also the most likely to be true; it’s urban warwafe on a country with extremely tiny land area and a population of millions. You could blindly drop a bomb quite literally anywhere there and you’re likely to hit someone. This is what war looks like.
“Lie”
It’s a theory. A plausible but unlikely one. Just like it was unlikely that the first atomic bomb would set the atmosphere on fire - but possible. I think that events with consequences of this magnitude deserves some consideration. I doubt humans are anywhere even near the far end of the intelligence spectrum and only a human is stupid enough to think that something that is would not posses any potential danger to us.
If Hamas wasn’t using their own population as human shields and shooting rockets from next to the refugee camps then perhaps there would be no need for it. I also find it quite ironic how they’re yet again criticized for bombing civilians while there’s a perfect example right there of to which lenghts they’re going to warn them beforehand. I doubt Hamas did that before shooting rockets at the aid delivery corridor a few days back. Again, 350 meters from a civilian campsite.
If French were to send soldiers to Ukraine those would be French soldiers, not NATO soldiers. Attack against them is not an attack against a NATO country. Countries like Turkey and USA have been involved in their own conflicts aswell where they have had their troops attacked and this haven’t triggered article 5 either. That’s not how it works.
Not using the default ones is a probable cause for why your browser gets flagged. Restore to default settings and make sure you don’t have other adblockers enabled (such as the one built into YouTube Enhancer add-on) If you still get the pop-up you can update the “quick fixes” list or wait an hour or so for the uBlock team to catch up with Google’s latest updates to the detection script.
I prefer 1080p but if not available then 720p is perfectly fine as well. 4k is overkill and I don’t even have a monitor that could play it at native resolution. Where I do prefer “lower quality” though is framerate. I don’t like how 60fps looks so I force YouTube to play videos at 24fps.
