Thanks! I’ll try converting the file format and see if that’ll work. I successfully uploaded a JPEG last night, so maybe it just doesn’t like PNG files anymore 🤷♂️
There seems to be an issue with uploading large images. I don’t know if anyone else has noticed it but I’m getting the error when trying to upload wallpapers to /c/wallpapers. I think it might be related to file size? Or maybe file format? It’s a 13MB .png file. I don’t remember running into issues with the old version when posting similar content.

Can’t help with a briscola edit though cause I’m on mobile.
That’s how you get wireless internet. You have to charge the internet before taking it with you.
Man, actually hearing that someone is enjoying this place makes me feel bad for trying to give it away 😂
I guess if no one ends up wanting it, I could try my best to keep it going. As long as y’all don’t mind infrequent posts. I’m trying to balance “Lemmy feeling like a job” with “actually enjoying Lemmy”. Maybe it’s my own fault for creating a bunch of communities (it’s definitely my own fault lol).
I’m sure there’s an argument to be made about not buying things you can’t afford, but looking at the graph in that article, people are going to get fucked on mortgage renewals. Anyone that locked in for 3/4/5 years are going to be renewing between now and the next couple of years and going from BOC rate of 0.25% to 5% or more is going to hurt.
Someone I know is looking at renewing their mortgage in the next couple of months and they’re already looking at a jump from 3% to >6%.
Go for it man! I had never moderated over on Reddit but I wanted to contribute on Lemmy so I started up some communities. Everyone has behaved themselves so far and people have been pretty positive about things. Eventually it might get overwhelming (if Lemmy really takes off), but there’s always the option of adding more mods to help.
I’ve been trying to kickstart four communities because apparently I’m a masochist, but I’ve posted more in the last month than I did in the last 10 years on reddit. It reminds me a lot of my first couple of years on reddit (circa 2010/2011) and then my posting died off because you’d either get drowned out by the noise (hundreds or thousands of comments) or ignored in favour of a one liner joke.
I’ve seen a lot of people comparing Lemmy to early reddit, and I don’t necessarily disagree, but I feel like there’s one important distinction between the two. Even early reddit was driven by karma. There just wasn’t as much people >10 years ago. I find the lack of karma on Lemmy refreshing. How it’s gone back to the old forum way of just counting the number of posts is fantastic. It’s a weird habit to break out of though because part of me still wants to go “I got no upvotes, time to delete” or “I’m getting downvotes, better delete my post”.
My backlog was getting low (which is rare), so I’ve stocked up to last a while, or at least until the winter sale.
This user doesn’t actually have a phone. They’ve got access to Teams but they don’t use it. Email is basically the only way to contact them. We’ve got several people like that around here.
Numb. Sad. Mostly numb.
I was cheering for Kamala. I wanted the US to succeed. She had the big rallies, the celebrity endorsements, the polls were saying it was neck-and-neck. It looked like sanity was going to prevail. Then Trump just basically sweeps it and it’s like…oh. It’s easy to call the Americans “stupid” or whatever insults I’ve seen flying around the internet, but there was a vote. He won the vote. Over 72 million people think that Trump and the Republican ideology lines up best with their ideology. Who am I to argue with that? I don’t agree with it, but I guess that’s democracy in action. Regardless of what lies were told or what disinformation was spread, people overwhelmingly went out, voted for ol’ Donny, and this is the result. That’s how she goes I guess…? I don’t fucking know anymore dude.
My heart absolutely breaks for the people of Ukraine. I’m sure they’ll lose their US support come January. They don’t deserve that.
