With all the studio buyouts, closures, layoffs, etc to pile on top of all the usual greedy macrotransaction crap - it’s really hard to give a shit about games right now. Seriously, the only upcoming game I’m even remotely interested in is Tiny Glade.

Whenever a conservative group attacks LGBTQ+ people - it’s always a distraction and/or low-risk, low-effort way of gaining support. They can attack less than 1% of the population and rile up support from their hardcore base at the same time. It also takes scrutinsing eyes off any other ongoing scandals or misdeeds the government is doing.

I’m sure Smith will find some way to blame trans people and/or Trudeau for the fires.

Why is “healthcare” never an option?

That private healthcare lobbyist money is just too good.

I haven’t shopped there in years and have no plan to. I used to work for them and detest spending any more time in their stores.

Base model 15 is $1130 here. Base model 14 (last gen) is $1000. Both before tax. At a time when millions are struggling to put food on their tables. And even assuming you could afford a new iPhone, it will be almost indistinguishable from older generations excluding a few software differences. Even the camera output is almost exactly the same among recent generations.

Way ahead of you. I haven’t shopped at a Loblaw’s location in years.

I’ll believe it when I see it. Despite there being plenty of options in my area, the parking lots of Loblaw’s stores are still overflowing with cars. I was driving around the city yesterday taking care of some errands and I drove past several stores and they were absolutely packed. One even had a lineup of cars to enter the parking lot that was overflowing out onto the road.

I live in an area with numerous grocery stores around and it always amazes me how often the Loblaw’s parking lot is PACKED despite their absurd prices and the security measures treating customers like escaped convicts.

Gross.

I’ve repeatedly seen people claim that the latter generations of the Vision Pro will be what launches it into success but like… how? The Vision Pro is incredibly expensive, limited in functionality, and has an ultra locked-down ecosystem not because it’s a first-gen product but because that is how Apple operates. All of their products follow that trend. In fact, additional Vision Pro generations are likely to be more expensive just like how new iPhones and Macbooks are going up in price and staying there.

The majority of people are simply not interested in VR/AR and Apple’s pricey take on it isn’t going to change that.

Wouldn’t expect anything less of Vancouver and the thugs that are our police.

People-pleasing and excessive conflict avoidance. Been there before.

A lot of people think the justice system should be about revenge and not rehabilitation.

Anecdotally, I have spoken with so many people that believe criminals should permanently lose their human rights and never be accepted back into society again regardless of crime committed. It is actually legitimately disturbing how many people froth at the mouth at the idea of a government-run institution that enacts petty revenge on its own citizens. I have had numerous people give me a look of absolute disgust when I tell them that justice systems should rehabilitate people so they can enter society again safely and with helpful resources.

Reminder that as many of us Canadians are living paycheque to paycheque and can barely afford to put massively overinflated food on our tables - our lawmakers are dedicating their time to attack a minority that makes up only 0.3% of the Canadian population.

This same distraction tactic is used heavily in the US and is sadly quite effective at drumming up conservative support.

That sounds more like an Envision problem instead of a credit union problem.
