Was it some vendor’s prebuilt PC maybe ? Those can have some weird parts that can be hard to get to work properly on Linux.

How ? I did manage to accidentally lock myself out of my main Nvme drive the first time because I chose the encryption option and fucked up the password because of keyboard layout shenanigans, so I reinstalled it without encryption because I’m the only person with access to this PC anyway, but everything else went smooth as butter.

I second this. Works almost flawlessly out of the box (I had to install another version of the Nvidia driver from the pop shop because my 3080 didn’t like the 470 version but other than that I had no issues, except with some games that require a kernel level anticheat)

Always fucks me up when I use someone else’s computer and immediately get assaulted by the fucking candy crush ad in the start menu, start grumbling about it and/or ask if they want me to disable it, and the person goes “idk I never noticed it lol”

Personally, Veritasium is out of that list for me due to some of his more recent videos. He still has some good content but I really disliked that “rods from God” video where it feels like he’s basically doing the same thing as the “How Ridiculous” guys and trying to disguise it as science communication. And the (admittedly few) ones where he’s basically disguising advertising as his regular content.

Yeah, well, I can drive 1 hour and cross 3 borders. And I won’t have to go through an immigration/customs checkpoint at any of these borders.

Then my advice would be to also advance the story. I did my usual thing of exploring and mostly clearing areas before advancing the story and as a result I got a bit bored in the late game, because as you progress, the portions of the map locked behind story progression get smaller and smaller.

The music in slay the spire is perfectly fine but it gets repetitive after a while. But it’s also a great game to play while listening to podcasts so it’s a non issue

I get your point but you’ve got it backwards imo. Detailed reviews come out whenever, especially if it’s a single guy doing all the work. Pre-release reviews are, at best, rushed (very few publishers will give review keys more than two weeks before release, and you usually have several releases to cover each week), and at worse, more or less dictated by the publisher (lest your publication get blacklisted and you never get a pre release key from that publisher ever again).
