You’re not realising the implications of refusing to give Palworld it’s own identity, are you?
You can in the newer entries I think? I haven’t played em but I heard my friend mention it
The fact that you call em pokémon instead of Pals tells a lot.
Are you assuming I’m buying pokémon games?
I’m playing stuff I actually enjoy like Cassette Beasts. I’m hyped for the upcoming Beastieball too. I tried TemTem but it felt too much “Mobile” for me for a lack of better terms.
I’m pointing out that it’s funny to me that fans of Palworld got angry at the very thing Pokémon fans got angry at Gamefreak for (Namely, spreading their team thin on Little Town Hero)
Instead we get plagiarism simulator 9000 because it made for great YouTube clickbait.
Cassette Beasts has so much soul put into it, it’s a fucking crime that it ain’t more popular
It’s been quite a long time but iirc there was originally a deal going on between them that got last second tossed out for Fortnite instead. Sadly I don’t fully remember
Kind of how Fortnite was a rehash of stolen ideas (originally) of PUBG
The reason people originally hated Fortnite was because not only did they blatantly plagiarise PUBG, Sony also intentionally screwed over PUBG to make Fortnite more popular
Exactly. Cassette Beasts and various other indie games have made bigger rounds before.
The only reason Palworld got popular was because of clickbait youtubers
Cassette Beasts > Palworld and day for me. Try it it’s great
I hate the comments there…
Honestly, all Palworld has to do is change a few models and they’d be out of the hot water. I do have to say though the few models that are noteworthy are HIGHLY problematic to a point of “X pokemon but color swapped”
Seriously Palworld reminds me of so many games that are over hyped and then forgotten a month or two later.
It doesn’t help that the company behind it, Pocketpair, has a treck record of not finishing their games
Not a Nintendo game
Your teaching professor likely misinterpreted the fair use doctrine’s wording. Apparently this is a common mistake. I made sure to look this up.
Both Nintendo and Pocketpair are Japanese companies and their copyright laws are MUCH more harsh. In fact Japan even lacks concepts of “Fair use”
Add to that the fact that public opinion also matters intensely in Japanese courts (think juries) and that Pokémon is considered a national treasure and well… Things are stacked against Pocketpair
The graphics argument is so weak anyway as Palworld is basically a more watered down ark survival with worse graphics and a pokemon esque design philosophy.
It’s also tbh very much just “Super Mario Bros but more” in terms of well… Everything. If you like SMB1 and want new levels, play SMB2 Lost Levels.
It’s reminiscent of “wario master of disguise” which imo is good enough
Oh god
We are getting hit by “What Pikachu is that” from the younger generation now, just like we did back then by our parents ʘ‿ʘ
