You can create files with the same name differing only by case through WSL. I’ve had issues with it before.

I believed they maybe weren’t listening because those cases that people claim as “proof” of listening can usually be explained in other ways as well. People tend to assume they were listening because its the easier explanation but with the amount of data that Meta has, they can easily lead people into thinking about things by showing specific posts on the Facebook timeline and also predict to some extent what people may end up talking about based on things like how many times you replay a certain video and how long did you keep certain posts in focus on the screen and that sort of stuff that people often don’t realize is also data for them.
Still, I would never put my hand on fire for them and never completely discarded the possibility of them listening.
Well we always accused Meta of listening. If it was their partners, they technically weren’t lying when they said they weren’t. “we don’t need to listen to you” was technically correct too, it just missed one word: “we don’t need to listen to you ourselves”
With all the information that Google knows about us and everything, they could in theory be doing a great job suggesting things that would be great for us - for example showing me a product or service I don’t know exists which would help me with some problem I may be having.
Google pretends that it’s what they do - showing the best possible ads for us. But what they do is the complete opposite, they find the best possible users to show their ads to. They have a responsibility to the ad, not to the user.
Pretty much everything. I mostly just eat chicken, rice, fries, bread and industrialized shit. I also eat some other stuff if I prepare it myself in different ways than others would (for example, I can eat meat but only if its very well done, with absolute no pink in it - and also no fat)
Everytime this shows up I wonder if this is really a male nipple or if the creator used a female one just for extra laughs. If it was a serious thing that people actually did it would be hilarious if they were replacing one female nipple for another.
Somehow also reminds me of a story about a singer’s album cover released during the latest military dictatorship in Brazil (it was a heavily censored period). Folks went out of their way photographing a woman’s asshole with a marble ball on it until they managed to get one that looked like an eye - then used that picture as the album cover.
Just last month I was thinking about asking somewhere if there was any chance we could ever find more than the usual stuff or if there would be no way for a perfect preservation to happen naturally. Guess I have my answer now.
My favorite 8 bit game was The Little Samson. So few people know about it but it was an incredible game for that time.
The JK brand of transphobes don’t even believe they exist as they think trans = “men role-playing in order to abuse women”
My mother in law has no problem with M/M but complains about lesbians (says it’s disgusting) - I then assumed homophobes are bothered more about gays of their own gender in general.
I’m coming from /all with no knowledge of star trek or any of those characters. After reading the whole thing I kinda understand where this opinion was coming from, though I disagree with it.
Their intention was to say it’s homophobic to call a man gay just because of how he acts with another man. This is because homophobic people tend to call out straight folks as gay all the time just because they don’t act macho enough or some shit.
There is some truth to what they were claiming, but as I understood it the things that made you call this character gay were not his actions and mannerisms but for his apparent attraction to another character. Plus at no point you used that characterization as a negative thing.
It’s not homophobic to simply think someone might be gay. It would be if they explicitly identified themselves as straight, or if you had only homophobic reasons to think they are. This was not the case here and this person was reacting to every comment by interpreting them in the absolute worst possible way.
I don’t think they were comparing emulators between apple and android, just mentioning that emulators are better on it than they expected it to be.
My take on the list: seems most issues are related to Samsung specifically. I’ve never owned a Samsung Android so I can’t really relate to them. I don’t really see the performance issue happening with mid tier androids though - I’m using a Motorola edge 20 and it is still just as fast as it was two years ago. Weaker decides definitely have this problem, but a flagship is not supposed to. Might be related to Samsung bloatware, maybe.
Complaints about apps and Google abandoning services is 100% real. I don’t mind the inconsistent look and feel tho, I even kinda like it - I wouldn’t like it if everything on my phone looked the same year after year (I tend to switch launchers and icon/theme sets from time to time). Also not a fan of the extra animations Apple tends to have (I’m saying this based on osx as I haven’t actively used any iOS in a while). I’ve probably even tweaked the animation settings on my phone back when I got it to speed them up. Still, Apple’s app ecosystem is miles ahead of android’s in almost every way. Even though apps can do much more on Android than on iOS, the store is trash and Apple’s isn’t (store itself still has some issues but the average app on it is much better).
I’m curious about this shortcuts app. I vaguely remember hearing about it when it came out but I’m not sure what it can do, I’m gonna check it out. Can’t comment on some other items as I don’t drive, don’t take many pictures, don’t use my face to unlock and only really use one Bluetooth audio device.
GitLab has such a strong work from home culture that I wish more companies would adopt, I hope they don’t lose that if they’re sold.
There was something in that game that made it insufferable to me, but I don’t remember what it was. Everytime I picked it up I would play for 5 or 10 minutes and put it down again, until I eventually quit it.
I wonder how that’s going. When the devs started they were clearly overpromising things that they thought would be cool to have without any idea of how long it would take to implement them. I always suspected it would remain in development for many many years, but apparently it’ll be playable next year.
Nah, I’ve lost it 25 years ago and never really missed it. On contrary, in the rare instances in which I was able to smell something since, it’s always been something I would rather not.
It would be a service problem if the chapter was released officially in one language then translated to others by pirates faster than the official company, but that is not the case. The official Sunday release includes the English, Spanish and Portuguese translations (among others) and they are all made available at the same time, for free for several regions.
Pirate websites only manage to release it faster because they get access to the unfinished product and then have people work on them with no regards to any work laws in order to finish and release it as soon as possible without any schedule or time constraint.
It might be my adhd+aphantasia brain but I don’t get the idea of enjoying a color.
I mean, if someone creates a game with all the options there and you just use AI as a replacement for a complex UI, it could kinda work. A game like scribblenauts could theorically implement an AI based stage creation option with the current tech already. The problem with that is that the AI wouldn’t be able to guarantee that the stage has a proper challenge level (or even that is possible to complete it), so it would also need to implement an AI that tries to beat the level as well and then keep iterating over the two until a proper stage is found.
In short: doable, for very niche cases and probably taking a very long time to complete a prompt (possibly hours).
