Do people not like Octopath Travler (1 & 2)??? I rarely see it mentioned but it’s one of my absolute favorites. Fantastic pixel art and music. I love the combat and job system too. Being able to bridge level deficits with items/gear and strategy meant it wasn’t grindy either.
Exactly that. Outside of very small, niche areas there was no more actual conversation. No more unique perspectives. Just overused jokes and arguments.
Based on your description and games played I’d say “Furi” and “Transistor”. Second is made by Supergiant Games and all thier stuff is fantastic. I loved thier stories and the gameplay was unique in each.
The old ones in glass bottles… talk about god’s nectar. On a hot day as kid nothing beat it.
