No offense but you sound SO old lol. Tiktok isn’t just full of 12 year old’s and hasn’t been since, well, probably since covid started. With what a shit show standard search engines are these days I don’t blame them for searching what they know. There’s plenty of good info on tiktok that’s being presented by people that know their craft. The short format is nice too because it keeps them from telling their whole life story before they show me what I need to know.
The fact that you’re just basing your whole opinion here on an article kinda says it all really. I would have hoped my generation would outgrow this boomer bullshit but here we are.
Y’all are so worried about using things like Google pay but it’s going to become a standard whether you like it or not. It’s just another way to pay for shit and banks reimburse scammy bullshit just like they do if your card info gets stolen.
I hated it but my teacher just had us read a book quietly and then tested us on it. Almost no interaction at all other than occasionally making us take turns reading it out loud which also just kinda sucks
You go ahead and lose. I’ll continue to push for realistic and incremental progress.
Die standing on your questionable morals then and live with the consequences of your choices.
Yeah, no shit. That doesn’t justify throwing our votes away on candidates that simply have no chance. Trying “something different” for the sake of saying you tried something different does nothing but feed your own ego. In the meantime poc, women, and the lgbtq community will be thrown under the bus with another trump presidency.
I’m honestly skeptical of anyone that’s pushing for not voting or for voting 3rd party because republicans are pushing this narrative hard right now. They know nobody sane will vote for trump so their best bet is to discourage voting for either candidate. If you’re not working for the republican party on purpose you honestly might as well be since you’re spreading the same rhetoric they are.
That’s simply not how it works, unfortunarely. I’m not willing to risk a trump presidency by throwing my vote away.
No, I’ll blame people like you exactly like the first time trump got elected.
At that point you’re voting for trump and that’s all there is to it.
Is peanut butter bean dip or hummus?

No, it’s not. I get the feeling you’re not very active in communities that are against the genocide if you actually think that.
I don’t know why Nintendo won’t just give us a proper Paper Mario again. What is their problem? It’s so annoying. Bug Fables was fantastic though definitely hard agree.
I’ve never seen anyone else ever mention King’s Field 🥹
It’s not going to sell. It literally can’t because of their laws around proprietary tech. They have stated very clearly they will not sell and the people who voted yes knew this before they voted. They voted for a ban.
The fact that you would compare the “young people” fed up with the ridiculous state of our news media to maga just shows me that you’re out of touch. You can’t just google this stuff or do a quick search on tiktok and magically know what you’re talking about. It’s so egotistical that you wrote all of that and you have clearly not spent a single solitary second experiencing most of the things your opinions are based on.
I’m not “young people” and I think you’d have to be willfully ignorant to not see where they’re coming from in regards to the sorry state of our news media.
Because we deserve a little god damn joy in our life without some asshole billionaires paying to eradicate it for their own gain. That’s why.
It’s not even just an app full of kids or even dancing. If it ever was that was well before my time. I’m sure it still exists but it never makes it to me. It’s full of young adults and millennials these days. Other than the outrage over the genocide by Isreal another current big drama going around is about NC rep Jeff Jackson because he got a huge following on TikTok and then voted to ban it. There’s also a big thing about boycotting kellogs and we’ve been pretty active in discussing businesses that are stifling unions. Hell, half the front page of reddit is just badly cropped TikTok videos these days anyway lol
Well, ok. I lied. Sometimes I do get dancing videos: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLFVoyUw/
To answer your question just about as angry as any other major social media is about it these days? Right now the sentiment on TikTok is very strongly anti Isreal and outrage over the current genocide. I don’t know why you just assume they’re all over there praising China or whatever. China doesn’t come up there any more than here or other social media. China has their own version of the app where I assume their own censorship is applied.
Unless you want to pretend that lemmy or other social media is actively discussing the Uyghurs right now I don’t think this is a very valid point. You’re just using their suffering to feel superior when you probably haven’t even thought about them in who knows how long before now. You can search for them in TikTok and there are plenty of videos criticizing China about it.
It’s not hard to be informed and it’s incredibly hypocritical of you when you couldn’t even be bothered to fact check your own assumptions.
If any of the younger gens have a lack of understanding in tech then it’s on us. It’s on the older gens. We failed to guide them and push for the kind of education that they needed. Millennials, older millennials especially, were kind of privileged in this regard because we grew with the tech. We HAD to figure it out or just not interact with it. It’s not like we’re just built different or anything we just had different opportunities to learn. I don’t see how “watching a 30 second video by a 12 year old on tiktok” is realistically different from watching the video by a 12 year old typing in a notepad on YouTube that I used the first time I rooted a phone.
I swear every single generation makes things easier for the next and then immediately complains about “kids these days” and their lack of struggles
