Raises the question: does Lower Decks count as an anime?

Often it’s the ones that only take a second or a minute and minimal effort that get put off the longest and create most anxiety. I was discussing this with a friend last night: I’ve had numerous non-ADHD people explain to me how I just need to create a task list, not realizing that 1: I know all the shit I have to do…I’m just…waiting…, and 2. When I do try to set up lists and organizational systems, I get sucked into a false productivity hole and spend an inordinate amount of time on the process/list/automation crap, and then when it’s perfectly set up, I maybe use it for a week but inevitably revert back to the chaos

My friend, that all sounds lovely to me. Don’t fall trap to societal (and especially capitalistic) definitions of achievement and mediocrity that demand a constant stream of more more more. It’s ok to be content and enjoy the simple pleasures in life.
That being said, if you’re unhappy, get after it. You mention wanting to play Baldurs Gate but feeling guilty about lack of partner time and fear of getting sucked into it for hours: what if you both dedicate a personal hobby night once a week where you can both do whatever and get lost in your own worlds separately without guilt? My partner and I recently started doing this on Fridays and it’s been a game changer.
Spectacular. It captures a vast amount of distinct worlds and geographic wonders
Coral are animals.
Now imagine it in a pair of these bad boys
You’re missing my point. The individual experience, while important and not something we should ignore, does not invalidate the now-decades worth of data we have that shows your original posture (raising min wage leads to increased cost of living) is incorrect.
Make no mistake: costs for staple goods have increased in that time and inequality and share of GDP that belongs to labor have gone to hell, but it’s not because of minimum wages or in any way related to their increases. If you want to blame anyone blame runaway healthcare costs, consolidation and unenforced monopolization of business, the decoupling of labor efficiency and labor pay, globalization and automation increasing competition and depressing local wages…etc
Not reflected in any long-term wage increase or min-wage-introduction economic observations and studies conducted in the last 40 years. This is one of those “it feels ‘logical’” talking points that capital likes to tout but is in no way backed up by data or empirical evidence.
Completely off topic to the thread, but you just reminded me of a time I snuck onto a movie set and got to actually do that. I posed as a driver for the car company and got to start/drive one of those bad boys with the hand crank. Inside was all switches too which was wild. The most uncomfortable ride of my life.
What’s the advantage over sftp, scp, or similar lower level protocols?
I say this with all due respect, but XML can gargle nuts.
Capitalists own the private sector. Everyone else is just human capital.
Love this, but now I’m also realizing how awful my workflow is in general. More than half of the time when I get into a groove I don’t even switch directories between tasks and end up just calling the relative path like an animal 😆
You mean “history” right? Right?!
Like physically? Yeah, I’m down with that.
This is the way
