I only use Google Alerts and it’s absolute trash. You can set it to only give alerts for particular regions and it’s constantly giving me hits from India, USA, and Australia (I’m also in Europe!).

Omg this is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I do a lot of media monitoring for work and have been using MBFC to try to measure how reliable my current Google Alerts are, because it throws up some weird and wild news sources.
Just FYI, because it seems like you want a trans-exclusionary sub, this is not the one for you. Sidebar rules state the belief here is that trans women are women, and as OP pointed out, the misogyny you describe is often a result of gender perception rather than chromosomal makeup.
Isn’t that essentially what Patreon is for though? How is it different (other than I assume no ‘bonus content’ for your sub)?
Okay, but we had that same issue in 2010 before Chrome started to become mainstream. And before that, IE had to compete with Netscape.
Wild they put you on ritalin first. I don’t know much about the chemistry but would trying a low dose of lisdexamphetamine maybe not be helpful, and less stressful on your heart?
Assuming you’re in England/Wales, can you contact ADHD UK for any help in advocating with your health board? Or any local networks?
Question: what stimulants have you tried? Is it possible to try something at a lower dosage, or an alternative stimulant? And what non-stimulants have you tried?
I’m a late diagnosis and have been titrating vyvanse for 3 months now (started at 20mg and moved up to 50mg). I’ve never taken Adderall but from my understanding, as it’s slow release, it should give a ‘smoother’ experience through the day. I ended up settling on 40mg as for me it’s the right balance of benefits vs. side effects. Possibly paradoxically, it’s lowered my resting heart rate - I assume this is as a result of not operating from a place of constant fear anymore.
Microdosing is something I’ve also had my eye on for a while, but until you can get medical grade, properly regulated tinctures, I wouldn’t risk touching it.
Do vegans generally accept that figs are okay to eat?
I grew up with a crazy vegan mother who dragged me to the outings of her crazy vegan club and they were all vehemently against eating figs. We don’t even live in a place where figs are common import, but they were so mad about it.
Similarly, “Frame of Mind” TNG S06E21!
Your front pockets are actually pockets?! On most of my jeans/pants they’re just illusionary!
We don’t even have front pockets, just seams to give the illusion of a pocket!
I have photophobia (and photosensitivity!) so dark mode is the only tolerable way to look at things for me.
Since dark mode has become a lot more prevalent/accessibile there’s been a notable reduction in headaches/migraines for me, especially in conjunction with ‘night light’ settings, and an anti-glare glasses coating.
I’m just annoyed about the lack of consistency in what products do and do not support a dark mode, especially when other products in the same suite do.
I’m limited to using MS Office at work and love that Word, Outlook, OneNote and Drive all have dark themes and a quick toggle button to check accessibility/accommodate light-lovers if I’m screen sharing… But why was Excel left out ☹️? And a bunch of other apps, like Planner and Forms.
Not un/fair at all, I did completely miss that out of my comment because I just didn’t have the energy to talk about the impact of the Patriarchy and masculine beauty standards on men.
The image in question (now removed) pitted women’s very valid concerns about sexualisation/objectification of women in the media vs. hyper-masculine portrayals of men (mostly superheros) in the media as if they were parallel issues.
Many comments were woman pointing out that hyper-masculine bodies are glorified in these movies, usually not for women to objectify, but to provide a power fantasy for other men. Plus lots of talk trying to explain male gaze vs. female gaze.
Not for a moment denying the negative effects this has on men’s self-image. It hurts men, and that hurt is more often than not being inflicted by other men. Absolutely LOVE that men are starting to have the conversation, but it shouldn’t be framed as the fault of women.
Yeah I was feeling pretty positive until there was a shitpost about unrealistic male body standards in media, and the majority of women’s voices saying “this isn’t there for us” being piled upon and dismissed was kinda staggering given the infancy of that community.
So many men fighting with women in the comments telling us that most women are attracted to and oggle over Hemsworth as Thor. Never mind our experiences I guess (literally never met a straight woman who’d pick Thor over Huddleston’s Loki).
Have you ever tried some sort of stimmy food like pepitas? They’re kinda a pain to eat if you’re not used to it. I can do one at a time and don’t have the best success rate of even getting the seed out 😂.
So I think “kill” is fine for the Tiktok censors as it can be used in various contacts that don’t necessarily mean death. Murder, suicide, and rape are definitely words that will get your content or comments removed, hence “grape” (or r@pe), “unalived”. Which is a bit frustrating when educational creators can’t actually talk about their specialist subjects but oh well.
They already threatened to stop this.
After the blackout, it seems the Admin sent out a generic message to mods of every private sub giving them a deadline to reopen, regardless of whether that sub had already been private prior to any talk of a blackout. Examples give in this post.
Easy: leave all emails that might be important as unread. That way, you know they’re important because they’re unread. Continue to never read them until you’ve got over 400 unread emails in your inbox. Then just mass delete any more than a month old, because they can’t still be important or relevant. Continue to feel guilty and not read emails.
Absolutely flawless system for me so far.
It was last revised under the Criminal Law Amendment Act 1885 where it was raised from 13 to 16… so I would think it probably was designed exactly that way. None of the parliaments in the UK seem to have any intention of raising it.
