Orion is a Kagi product, and Kagi is an AI company made to look like a search/browser/T-shirt company.
I have to assume a lot of people don’t understand how deep the AI rabbithole for Kagi goes, because I have seen people recommend Kagi to people frustrated with Google’s own AI bullshit… They’re launching AI features left and right, and they have fully bought into AI being the future of search.
The biggest criticism I have seen of announcements-only signal groups is that every member can see every other member. This might be inconvenient for members who use their single phone number for purposes outside of activism.
I remember when Telegram Inc was aware that could cause some massive issues down the line, and their response was to ignore it.
Then a state level actor abused this, and Telegram declared there was no issue, and they had fixed the issue.
Their new shopping toolbar is coming next. At least Pocket was universal. The Shopping Toolbar will only be for three websites:
Amazon USA
Walmart
Best Buy
You know, the biggest brick and mortar monopoly, the biggest online sales monopoly, and the biggest tech chain.
There’s probably lots of situations in anything but rural environments where open Wi-Fi networks are either already available, or highly likely to be. Dorms, apartments, anything like that becomes a mess.
