Once they’re teens, all parents become “bruh…”
Has real GI Joe PSA vibes…I love it
Won’t someone think of the shareholders!?!?
Bullshit. Conservatives don’t want people living in tents. I’m tired of all this propaganda. They clearly want anyone who can’t afford a house in a prison, not a tent.
And “Free speech absolutist”
You used the wrong hand dude…try again with the other…it should work.
Love me some…grapefruit pizza?
I’m not smart enough regarding macroeconomics to know the right answer, but I feel like there has to be a solution that makes home ownership affordable for new entrants into the market without causing the value of existing homes to tank so hard and fast that we end up with a 2008-style crash again. I’m pretty confident that getting large-scale corporate investment out of the picture is part of the solution, and I don’t care if the method involved there hurts the corpos pretty bad. Maybe an oppressive rent-control scheme that makes keeping the properties untenable for corporate owners, forcing them to want to sell as fast (and therefore as cheaply) as they can. I don’t know what zoning laws are like in Canada (compared to here in the US), but I think merging zoning for low- and mid-density residential such that suburban NIMBYs can’t block multi-family units from being build is another necessary step. As far as everyday folks who bought into the housing system, I’d like to see them as protected from the fallout as possible, especially since (at least the US) government has been all-too-happy to let home ownership replace pensions as the primary way people are “supposed” to retire.
Because the chain of command needs to be embedded enough into your psyche to override your fight/flight response. Same reason we spend our entire careers in the military practicing war. When it’s real, you can’t freeze up or get flustered…your job also has to be so well practiced that you can do it instinctively, because when you’re getting shot at, instinct is sometimes all you’ve got left.
He’s not happy, but that’s got little/nothing to do with his money. He’s doing the same things and experiencing the same consequences as a lot of people who fall into the extreme-right. He alianted his family, he’s in trouble at work and he’s blaming everyone and everything but himself. Only difference between him and the qanon conspiracy-brain who got fired from the plant in some small town for saying racist shit on Facebook is that Elon’s wealth and public status means his life falling apart is a public spectacle instead of a private one. That, and the fact that his meltdown impacts a lot more people.
Money actually does buy happiness for most people (up to about $75k USD annually, at which point the correlation fades). I suspect that happiness is a direct result of not feeling like you’re 1 sick day from homelessness, but I don’t think the data is there to support why yet.
Edit: $75k, not 7k
Neither does mine, but I’m still doing it. Worst cae, the popular vote being very far from the electoral college results highlights some of the absurdity in the system, which is a vital part of accumulating support for changing the system. Best case, I don’t understand the political landscape of my state as well as I think I do, and I contribute to it turning blue, even for a single election.

I think there was an implicit premise (intentional or not) in your statement about there being no natural way to let kids develop, and that’s what they were commenting on.

I’ve never seen the Eiffle Tower IRL, but that doesn’t change the fact that it exists.
I’ve heard before that there is a tendency of these tests to over-report European ancestry and under-report or misidentify ethnic minorities. Something to do with the underlying datasets not being inclusive enough because those populations are smaller and don’t purchase these DNA tests at the same rate as Western Europeans.
There also seems to be a weird fetishisation of First Nations ancestry in parts of the US. I’ve also been told I have Cherokee ancestors, but it didn’t show in my dna ancestory either.
Mules are sterile, though. It’s much rarer for different subspecies to make viable, fertile offspring.
It’s apparently a highy effective body plan. Look up “Carcinization”, things keep evolving into crabs, independently of one another.
