He added, however, that the Church still considered same-sex relationships "objectively sinful"
DUDE you cannot bless a relationship you consider sinful.
I agree about a German or Polish item; such a good chance for a bit of international flair. I don’t know anything about Poland, but I spent time in Germany a long time ago. My mind went to cuckoo clocks for fun, and other fine and classy looking clocks (I brought home a chime clock that I loved). Could be towels embroidered in a traditionally Polish way. Or a set of Polish or German stemware.
New word to me, thank you. And apparently, in animals which display that behavior, it is reflexive, not a voluntary action. But a point of interest from your article:
Lordosis behavior is non-functional in humans, although lordosis-like positions can be observed in those being mounted from behind.
So therefore, while twerking mimics lordosis, it’s really just dancing, albeit rather sexually.
Nerve searing, never heard of that! I may have to look into it, thanks for the info :)
edit Ahhhh Google tells me it’s called nerve ablation, sounds interesting. Much appreciate the info.
At least half a century too late.
I want to know where in the world you are that LGBTQ+ is specifically protected, rather than rather than the protections being applied to sexuality and gender as a whole? In other words, do you know what you are talking about?
Hell no. I have a low dosage script, doc monitors closely and I don’t abuse. I don’t WANT to take pain meds regularly, but I must sleep, so I take my small dosage 3-4 times a week at bedtime. Then I sleep with less pain, not zero pain. But because it’s ongoing for years, occasionally I end up on some pharmacist radar. Last time I had to pay out of pocket, they said insurance wouldn’t cover this time.
The preparations come after the company was sued by the US government in April over its failure to detect what the Department of Justice called “red flags” around its filling of prescriptions for opioids and other painkillers.
No wonder my pharmacist balks at my prescription for Vicodin. And meanwhile, I’m in too much pain to sleep, just from lumbar back pain & sciatica.
Added sea mammals that are super territorial and attack human shipping vessels.
Orcas > humans!
Oddly, our police forces have a lot of discretion in which laws they enforce. For instance, the speed limit may be 35 but the cops may not pull you over unless you’re doing 55. Marijuana laws are not always enforced. Etc.
Being touch starved is a real thing. I can’t believe I’m going to suggest this, but maybe talk with your therapist about whether it might benefit you to see a sex worker? I’ve known a couple men who were touch starved (not just sex starved) who benefitted from regular visits with a sex worker. Other than that, good regular massage could help. For both of those, seeing the same person over time seems like the best idea, even though it’s not a romantic relationship. Also a dog, one who likes to cuddle and needs to be exercised daily, could improve your life.
Sept 3 (Reuters) - Nevada authorities on Sunday said they were investigating one death after a severe rainstorm left tens of thousands of revelers attending the annual Burning Man festival stranded in mud, and asked that they shelter in place and conserve food and water.
The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office in northern Nevada said in a statement that the death happened during a “rain event” on Saturday but did not provide details of the cause of death or the person’s identity.
“The family has been notified and the death is under investigation,” the sheriff’s office said. “As the death is still under investigation, there is no further information at this time.”
Access to and from Black Rock City, the event site, was closed “for the remainder of the event,” organizers said in a statement on social media.
The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office said the entrance to Burning Man had been closed due to flooding and anyone trying to get in “will be turned away.”
More than 60,000 participants travel to and from the remote area in northwest Nevada every year, according to the event’s website, gathering in the temporary city to make art, dance, and enjoy community at a cost of $575 per person for a regular ticket. Local media reported there were around 73,000 “burners” in Black Rock City.
The festival gets its name from its culminating event, the burning of a large wooden structure called the Man on the penultimate night.
Videos shared on social media showed festival-goers in good spirits wading ankle deep in thick mud. The site is in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert, a large, flat, ancient lake bed known as a playa.
“Rain over the last 24 hours has created a situation that required a full stop of vehicle movement on the playa,” the U.S. Bureau of Land Management, the agency that manages the land on which the event takes place, said in a statement on Saturday. “More rain is expected over the next few days and conditions are not expected to improve enough to allow vehicles to enter the playa.”
On Saturday, attendee Paul Reder, who has been going to the event for 22 years, told Reuters in a video call that he expected it would take at least two days for the area to dry out.
“Fortunately we’re in a fairly big camp with a lot of supplies,” Reder said. “As a community, everybody’s sharing with each other.”
While he was prepared to ride it out, Reder said some attendees were leaving the site on foot and trekking to the nearest highway.
The gathering, which originated as a small function in 1986 on a San Francisco beach and is now also attended by celebrities and social media influencers, was scheduled to run from Aug. 27 until Sept. 4.

an older fixture like that…My home was built in the late 90’s.
Somehow I don’t think you meant 1890’s. As someone born in 1954, it’s really hard to realize that things which were built long after I became an adult are, nonetheless, now considered “older”. sigh
Are you saying that there should be a law against a standing office holder losing an election? I hope I’m misunderstanding you. If the voters decide that someone who is serving in an office should not be returned to that office, whether it’s president, senator, governor or whatever, then that’s what the election is for. Have you never voted against someone who was currently in office?
Both McConnel and Feinstein should have been voted out of office a cycle or two ago, purely on the basis of competency rather than politics.
he should have been allowed to conitnue
Who is “he” that should have been “allowed”? No one has been disallowed, that I know of. Someone was voted out of office a few years ago, which is a proper procedure in a democracy.
Although cognitive decline is associated with aging, it is not 100%. I’ve personally known 90 year olds with more mental ability than some 60 year olds. McConnel’s decline was evident over a decade ago, as was Feinstein’s. Neither should have been reelected. I see much more mental decline in Trump than in Biden. Try listening to tapes from them 20-30 years ago. Trump now speaks with the simplistic speech patterns of a child, whereas he used to discuss complex issues with competency. I think a Trump presidency 30 years ago would have been even more dangerous than the one we had. Biden still talks in complex sentences which make sense, and he appears to know what he’s talking about.
Nonetheless we absolutely need to get younger people into higher office more and more, prepping them for the presidency.
The problem with this article is that it assumes there is only one environmental issue: climate change. Other issues include microplastics, running out of finite resources, loss of biodiversity from multiple causes, depletion of groundwater etc.
The parent who sent their child to day care despite quarantine instructions should be charged with a crime, maybe reckless endangerment.
