  • Lenovo Explorer. I don’t play VR games really, but it’s fun when my little nephews visit (the A770 handles simple games like Beat Saber well). Outer Wilds in VR seemed like a good time to dust of the headset but it’s a bit too stuttery. I didn’t look for any type of fix or optimization though.

But if you’re serious about VR gaming Intel Arc is not a good idea for now. However on /r/intelarc some report good results, saying it varies from game to game.

  • I loved Chaotic-AUR when I was using Arch. No waiting to build AUR packages, you know if it works right away.

You have to decide if you trust the source. Personally I’m not worried.

Also if you know how to fix an AUR package you can open a ticket on their github and they will update it immediately most of the time.

  • Imhotep@lemmy.worldtoLinux Gaming@lemmy.worldWhy do you use Linux?

    Privacy

Yesterday I couldn't log into my session. The password was correct, yet it wouldn't work. I had to reboot and lose whatever I was doing.

That was a first. And it feels like every week since I've started using Linux forever ago I discover a new very annoying bug

For a long time I liked tinkering, customizing, and tolerated fixing bugs… but this time is mostly gone

Were it not for privacy, (and the feeling my computer is truly mine and not rented from a giant corporation) I would switch to something more stable

  • I have at least one in my house. We coexist peacefully.

I’m not fond of insects that go near you or are unpredictable (stinkbugs!). Centipedes are not like that. They’re discreet, always keep their distance, and when you notice them they don’t startle you.
    They’re very polite.

And I don’t find them creepy looking like some big spiders. They make me think of fluffy dried plants.

    I realize I haven’t seen mine in a while and I’m a bit worried
