My first thought was also that it’s a Pi bottleneck. I have a 4b, and I don’t think I would really trust it to handle some of the higher-quality streaming. Maybe just barely.

Showed this game to my step-daughter who is used to playing modern first-person games. I was whipping through loops and jumping across parts of the map all fast, as one does. All she had to say was “What the hell is even going on in this game???”
Wasn’t sure if my brain was just filling things in but I could’ve sworn I could kinda see it on the video. I assumed it was maybe because there was some ear matter and a little blood to help it.
NO SEX CAUSES BRO EYES
Sort of. It pretends to disable recommendations, but things like shorts that show up in feeds a related videos are still skewed toward you. They just disable the ability to really scroll through them to try to encourage you to turn it back on. You can trust their profile on you is still kept up-to-date ;)
My YouTube is well-trained, but this is how my Instagram is. Didn’t use it or follow anybody on it for years. Recently took to scrolling and watching funny dog videos on there. I was showing my GF a funny pupper and accidentally tapped the search loupe at the bottom. BOOM. Bouncing boobies and butts covered my screen. I just kind-of stared at it in disbelief, saying “What the hell?” She got a laugh out of it. I guess this is a big part of instagram now.
I heard rumors they were internally testing one, but I have a feeling they were caught with their pants down on that one. It was probably Google’s LLM, which I would assume is why they may now be partnering with Google for that.
There are a lot of things that improved over the course of the 20th century that could be correlated here. Improved nutrition, reduction of poisons, handling of diseases that would affect children during key developmental periods, even having a higher daily experience of intellectually-stimulating activities could be looked in to. Also, is that about when we started using hormones/steroids in meat-producing animals?
Puff puff pass no bogarting
Interesting observation. I initially assumed it was coincidental. Mainly because names like “The Circle” are actually a fairly common thing for cults or extremist groups. Just like “The Family.” It’s something I think a writer could have come up with independently without even being aware of that history. However, you do have a couple of points that indicate it could have been inspired by that specifically. Seems like the name may be more than coincidental!
I also believe this. Seen it happen before. Somebody introduces an asshole to drugs thinking it will open their mind, because it happened to them. Pikachu face when they just become a bigger asshole.
I hear that ominous music, too
“Short Treks”
Noticing the little two eyes over the voice one, I think that would be a fun way to indicate if you were you were to run a POTS line over Ethernet, too. Not only would it look like a little guy with his mouth open, but it would also be a reminder that only two pins in that port are connected. (You can actually connect a phone line to a jack like that and just plug an old phone cable into the middle of the port and it will work)
