And making train tracks across line distances is also expensive. Why would the government spend money there instead of something like the failing school system or defending the nation or trying to help with the huge issue of homelessness.

So then are we really saving space if we keep it there or are we just using more to make train tracks?

See, this is why I don’t like these posts. You have to keep in mind that the train won’t be at that capacity because it is more limited in where it can go and when. Sure, if you are like going across a country it’s alright, and I don’t disagree, I’ve actually used trains for that. But as soon as it becomes the only source of transportation, we have issues.

It’s so many at this point.

Trains are barely more space efficient and what would we do with current roads for cars anywhere? If we just leave them there, nothing would be gained. And cars are just easier to travel by and make more sense in general.

Pretty sure they have the same issue, considering blocking them too. Might be thinking of a different one though.

How do you get to the train?

Cars scale with the population very well. Rural and small cities have smaller roads and better infrastructure for traveling short distances while still being able to be used for long distance. The housing crisis goes a lot deeper than people think, if cars are contributing, then not much.

Ah right because America is a few blocks long. And here I thought the American would be bad at geography (I don’t know a single thing about geography).

I hope it doesn’t become like iPhone where they are used by everybody in America and they still don’t have much of anything over competitors like Android.

Alright I guess but does that really justify $3500 (and more I’m guessing since it’s Apple you will need to buy something else, for example the $60 prescription lenses on quest 2 are more than $800 for the vision pro)

Plane rides aren’t for frequent and shorter trips. Cars are a cheap way to get there and you aren’t restricted at all.

How are they inefficient or at least less inefficient than other solutions? That infrastructure is already there, unlike others. And air quality is more affected by other things than cars.

What would you be doing in ar with it? It just seems so awkward for any type of interaction and not really anything fun or worth anyone’s time or especially money. They already said it wouldn’t be 3d movies, except for very few, they would stay 2d. Also it would literally be cheaper to get other monitors.
