  • There is actually an app that will let you remotely view and start/stop the printer without the use of the VPN.

My wife often works from home and is tech savvy so I have no problems running prints and checking in remotely and I often hear of others doing the same; however…

I would not recommend doing it without someone handy. Just my two cents. It’s not that someone could hack in - it’s that you are dealing with temps in the hundreds of degrees Celsius. While I don’t recall of these things catching fire, the thought that it could burn my house down has more than once crossed my mind.

  • We had a new intern with zero social skills at my company a few years ago. He reminded me of a much younger version of Milton from Office Space.

Well, when he would go to the bathroom, either the single occupant ones or even ones that had multiple stalls: If it was occupied he would stand outside the door (or even a stall) like an inch away from it not moving just frozen waiting for the person to leave.

Was the craziest thing anyone had ever seen.

    One of two explanations:

It’s where they keep Gozer trapped and the camera is for security reasons. Probably got a proton pack aimed at it out of sight.

Samara from The Ring is down there and the camera is hooked to a monitor so people can view and have fun times in 7 days.

  • I live in an HOA (obligatory Fuck them)

They put up numerous bat boxes on poles around the common wooded area and a large retention pond right about the time Covid started.

Main reason is it’s free insect killers. We have tons of pests anyway being so close to a wooded area and a lake + the retention pond we have and the added bats help to clear some of them out.

As for the noise, no you really don’t hear them here. All the frogs are the loudest things heard of a night.

I think the other user pretty much nailed it about the enclosure. Unless you are printing materials that require high heat it is not necessary.

Now if you are in a very dusty environment you might consider one just to avoid the hassle.

However you also may want to look online, there are some simple and fairly inexpensive pop up enclosures that work very well. I have been using one for a while now with mine and I print ABS pretty regularly. I just tore all the electronics out of my printer and printed a control box for it (external) to the outside of the enclosure.
