I bet it drives you nuts that we folks in the southern US like to drink our tea sweet as hell and ice cold.
The thing that everyone ITT seems to be forgetting is that while yes making rice or beans or something similar can be cheap and also very filling. When someone is working 40+ hours a week at multiple jobs to keep a roof over their heads, depression is inevitable. Living paycheck to paycheck is stressful, anxiety inducing, and depressing. So when someone is exhausted and depressed, sometimes all they have the energy for is to pour a bowl of cereal, because anything beyond that is just too much.
“It’s true what they say, cops and women don’t mix. It’s like eating a spoonful of Drano; sure it’ll clean you out, but it’ll leave you hollow inside”
I loved the Naked Gun movies.
The Hot Shots movies were funny too.
…but nowhere near the amount and quality of gaming in, say, the NES days where there are more high quality games on that single console than there has been on every console in the last 15 or so years.
Now lets not romanticize older systems. As someone who grew up playing the original NES, I agree the console had a MASSIVE library of games in its hayday, but I would say less than half of them were even worth a shit. But you’re right, current consoles are simply leaning hard on “Look at how pretty it is” rather than actual quality gameplay.

Amazon seems to be following in the footsteps of TigerDirect and NewEgg. Both were amazing sites in the beginning, great deals, great customer service, etc… Then they started allowing fake knockoff brands, direct to consumer products from china, scammers, resellers, fake reviews, terrible refund policies, etc… and it slowly brought down the overall quality of the site and overwhelmed their support staff and eventually fucked over their reputation. The difference with Amazon is they aren’t limited to just tech, the fact that they now carry pretty much everything under the sun basically protects them from this same fate, sadly.

This was one of Cyrax’s original Fatalities from MK3.
I used to blare that on my phone when my teenager was taking too long to get ready.
I’m of the same mindset. A doctor equipped with all the latest technology will be able to offer a far more accurate diagnosis and custom treatment plan, rather than the traditional “make an educated guess and throw shit at it till something works” approach.
I know this is all just Elon’s ineptitude on full display, but there is still part of me that thinks he was paid by certain governments to tank the platform.
Those assholes should have never pushed the shit in the first place. Giving people the freedom to work from home and still live their life at the same time, then trying to snatch it away and force a return to the office, is clearly going to cause some serious push back. But these fucks were more worried about justifying their expensive office leases, than actually listening to and respecting their employees. A lot of those shit companies got what they deserved, empty offices, weakened workforce, and less overall productivity. Good job assholes.

Very good points. I have very limited knowledge about the inner workings of most LLMs, I just know the tidbits I’ve read here and there.
As far as quantum computers, based on my current understanding is once they’re at a point where they can be used commercially, they should easily be able to model/run artificial neural networks. Based on the stuff I’ve seen from Dr. Michio Kaku, quantum computers will eventually have the capacity to do pretty much anything.
I don’t think thats the case. If I understand correctly, the current issue is processing power, they can only load so much data before response time goes to absolute shit. I would think that layering different AI logic checks to verify statements made, recall previous conversations, and other mental processes that humans do automatically, would correct this issue. But with current technology its not even an option. My theory is that once quantum computers are actually finally realized and economically feasible, developers will be able to overcome the response time hurdle and all of the layered logic checks will be able to run simultaneously and instantly. My personal opinion is that I think the eventual layering of numerous AI models to overlap, check, and recheck one another, will be what brings on the emergence of what could be considered actual AI consciousness.
Who in the fuck do they think they’re fooling? There hasn’t been any sort of large corporate antitrust breakup since Bell Systems in the early 80s. They expect us to believe that after 40 years of inaction, suddenly they’re going to do their jobs again? This is nothing but pandering to pad approval ratings. I would love to be wrong, but I’m not getting my hopes up.
This was exactly my thought. Every student with access to a smartphone has almost the entirety of human knowledge in their pocket. Yet our education system is still using printed books and standardized tests written by for profit corporations. US students spend more time taking standardized tests than they do actually learning subjects and engaging with their teachers.
Our entire education system, like many current systems in place in our society, are antiquated and in dire need to be reimagined/redesigned for the 21st century. Trying to make school more about babysitting and less about education is not the way to go.
Maybe he was planning on retelling the story of their run-in with the dragon and was going to use the firework as his big finish to the story
