It did finally click for me, but it took well over a year. Someone told me to play for a couple weeks with no goals, and that finally made it happen. I didn’t put it down for another hundred hours.

I’m really, really good at throwing garbage into the can from across the room so I don’t have to get up.

Bro, if that’s the worst thing your spouse ever says to you, you’re a blessed man. Being able to get past things is a big part of any relationship. TBH, if you’re truly not able to let it go (again, barring any other information about how she treats you), you might need to consider whether marriage is for you. Living with a partner with that kind of commitment takes a lot of work and a lot of flexibility. You gotta roll with the punches sometimes.

I also have a group chat with my family. I wouldn’t call that social media. I’m thinking about actual social media, like Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, et. al, not just texting. Of course I communicate with my family.
