  • This might not help, but I’d seriously recommend reconsidering Arch derivatives.

I’ve been 100% Linux for almost 2 years now, with Garuda Linux on my primary desktop and Fedora on my laptop. I’ve had zero major issues with Garuda (and very few minor ones, to the point I can’t think of any specific problems in the moment), gaming performance has been fantastic, and the availability of software in the AUR is nothing short of amazing.

In my experience, keeping up with updates is not at all an impediment to use, and I’ve yet to have stability issues of any kind. I’ve been seriously considering replacing Fedora with Garuda on my laptop, the experience has been so smooth.

Just stay away from Manjaro. I feel like Arch fan-boys being dicks and people recommending Manjaro to new Linux converts are the only two problems with Arch (or at least its derivite distros, I haven’t raw dogged vanilla Arch before).

  • I cannot for the life of me get bazzite to use the Nvidia gpu in my laptop for shit. Like proper 3d games refuse to launch and simpler 2d games run but at like 4fps. The icon in the system tray for gpu selection/info won’t let me select dgpu, only integrated and hybrid. Gpu basically never gets touched. I’m sure it’s less of a bazzite issue and more of an Nvidia drivers on Linux issue, but can’t really test full functionality of bazzite like this.

And that’s with the Asus laptop Nvidia gpu specific image of bazzite. Very disappointed because I otherwise love bazzite. I have been keeping the windows drive in the laptop specifically for gaming until I can figure out how to fix this. I wish there were more laptop options with amd dGPUs… Looked at microcenter today and there was only one option. :(

  • Printed a sun visor extension out of PLA in my early days of printing. Had to run out to my car at like noon to grab something and it was deformed and droopy and could be reshaped as easily as a piece of leather… I learned a lesson that day, lol.

I printed a test piece (something much smaller) out of PETG to see if that would handle it. It would not, also got soft and sloppy after a couple of hours in the car.

  • Get whatever printer fits your budget and needs. You don’t have to have a prusa printer to use prusa slicer, and even if you don’t want to use prusa slicer; Cura, super slicer, and orca slicer all work on Linux natively as well. You shouldn’t have a problem with slicing software at all.

Also, as a tip, whatever printer you buy probably comes with an installer for a proprietary fork of (an old version of) one of the main slicers. Skip it. Go download Cura or prusa slicer and there will likely be profiles available during initial setup for your exact printer. Definitely if you stick to the bigger, well-known brands.

  • At least with the TIE bombers, the bombs were some kind of glowing energy bomb thing, so there is room to assume like maybe they are shot in a downward direction or they have tiny thrusters or something…

The new one basically just decided to take a WWII style carpet bomber straight out of a war movie and toss it up into space. I’m shocked they didn’t just take a B-29, rip the props off, and make the back of the engines glow.

  • You are expecting dominos to do it for you. That’s literally what you are asking. They aren’t going to do that for you because they make more money if you ignore the “deals”. Even a tiny barrier is going to keep out some number of people that don’t find value in spending 30 seconds to save 25% on a $30 tab because they have the money to not even notice, which increases profitability. Their line goes up. Our system forces all these companies to worry about that line going up.

That said, they aren’t trying to hide it from you, it is the largest thing on their store page, and their people on the phone will happily tell you about it.

Someone else made the same analogy, it is just like going to a drive through and ordering a burger, fries, and drink separately and not asking for a combo. Same products, but most places it will cost you more to order them separately than to order the combo.

If you are still mad about it, you aren’t mad at Dominos, you are mad at the core of our current economic system.
