I would suggest in the future that instead of spoiling your ballot you can decline your ballot instead. Spoiled ballots are considered rejected because it’s not clear if you meant to vote for someone but messed up versus not wanting to vote. Declined ballots are separately counted and will show political parties that there are eligible voters who went through the work to show up but intentionally did not want to support any candidates on the ballot.

The fair market wage is determined by the same market forces of supply and demand. If they can’t find local workers at the wage they are offering, raise the wage until they can. If they can’t afford the wages necessary to staff their business with locals employees and still make a profit, then they have failed as a business. Simple as that.

Temporary foreign workers are supposed to fill skill gaps in the economy when not enough qualified workers exist, not to supply cheap labour when employers want to improve their bottom line.

I think taste builds up a tolerance to sweet in the same way it does for heat. I used to drink lots of soda, but I stopped drinking it completely and now when I have a sip of Coke it tastes WAY too sweet and I can barely stand it. For people who eat lots of fast and ultra-processed foods packed with added sugar, salt, and fat, they need more extremes like this shake to overcome their tolerance in the same way a person who eats lots of spicy foods gets bored with jalapenos and needs ghost peppers and Carolina reapers that would destroy most other people’s palettes.

I was one of those strategic voters and I was promised by the Liberals that they were going to have the “last election under first past the post”. I’ve started using Obsidian with a kanban plugin, though any sufficient kanban style solution would work. I have a to-do column (aka backlog), an in-progress column, and a finished column. I add notes to the cards about what I did and I never delete stuff from the finished column so I can review if I need to re-open or re-do a task in the future.

Yes, I said in my original comment that it can’t universally parse and validate every HTML document. If they’re older pages that don’t do lots of crazy formatting then it’s not too hard to use regex as a first pass then take a second pass through the results to weed out the odd stuff.

I guess it depends on your definition of “parse”, but let me tell you it’s still very painful to deal with things like attributes appearing in any order inside of a tag so I definitely am not advocating to use regex to “read” (or whatever you want to call it) HTML.

I use regex in SQL to parse HTML stored in a database. It can’t universally parse and validate every HTML document, but it can still be used to find specific data like pulling out every link.
