I set an alarm that went off earlier today and I totally spent the next 5 minutes trying to figure out why I set it…
…which made me late for a meeting.

wtf that price is insane
It’s amazing to me that they misspelled “reaserch” in the first bullet item.
Wait so if you get banned you can’t even access your own information anymore?
I have a handful of Raspberry PIs collecting dust. I think I told my wife I’d do something cool and automated 1.5 years ago and…well…yeah.
I found an Android version but the reviews are really hit or miss…I might give it a try.
Any reasons why? Seriously asking because I had a hell of a time getting into FF9 for some reason, to the point where I actually never finished it.
I’m leagues older now and, hey, maybe I can go back and appreciate it differently…who knows.
Damn you. Nostalgia just hit me hard and I now need to figure out how to play this again.
Oh my god is this why I am this way.
I worked for a company that refused to use TypeScript because it “slowed devs down”. It was…a laughable period in my life.
At my org the security is so heavy that it’s a multi-step, multi-tier fix (meaning the one Helpdesk person has to escalate, the first tier that gets it has one password but not the other, that has to go to second tier, etc.)
They announced weekend hours all weekend on Friday and given we’re talking tens of thousands of potentially impacted systems, my guess is it absolutely won’t be done by Monday. That doesn’t necessarily mean business is dead in the water, but it’s definitely more chaotic and slow moving.
This was a fantastic read. Good on ya.
If you’re around the Portland-metro area of Oregon, I’d be happy to meet up and chat, let you vent, whatever.
I have to do it quarterly for some reason. Annually would be…better, but still stupid. My doctor even thinks it’s dumb, so he usually just asks me all the rote questions…
…no he doesn’t, he usually goes blahblahblah you’ve been doing this for 10+ years we know the routine. Unfortunately I still have to make an appointment, have an appointment, pay the deductible for said appointment, just to get 3mos of a medication that, thus far, I have a medical need for.
Seriously. My wife asks me if random people are objectively attractive or hot or whatever all the time, it’s basically just conversation fluff. It doesn’t matter how I answer because she isn’t jealous or anything, again, just conversation fluff.
Well, sometimes it matters if I say, “no that person is really weird looking” and she’s like, “whaaaat why?”. But then it’s just funny.
When you have 1000+ Cypress tests, for example, it takes time to run, plain and simple.
Now, if they were simple unit tests, sure, one could run thousands in a second or two, but they aren’t. Even headless, these just took time.
I worked for a company that required 95% code coverage but simultaneously complained about how slow tests ran.
🤷♂️
I think I read somewhere that the average adult has less than 5 good friends. Beyond that is rare to non-existent in terms of actual an “friend”.
That you had 5 show up is pretty good in one regard. I understand the disappointment though, wife and I planned a big 40th bday bash, invited anyone and everyone we knew, well north of 50 friends and acquaintances. End of day we assumed we’d get to 20.
We barely scratched 10, ended up canceling everything just due to effort and cost.
Anyway, if you’re in the Oregon area and do something like this again, I know I’m not a friend, but I’ll show up.
