Yay, now we can use electrolysis on sea water to recombine and create fresh water easier!

While I’m all for descheduling psilocybin (and decriminalizing it as well), it should be noted that this was a very small sample size study (15 people) and I’ve heard anecdotal warnings to not take shrooms if bipolar or schizophrenic for years, as there might be a slight risk of psychosis.
I'd normally agree, but the sheer necessity of desalination in the next couple of decades might actually make a dent in this issue, as the downstream effects might actually affect some profit margins. The real issue is scaling, as most of the "revolutionary" desalination headlines are generally only slightly more efficient, but often have issues staying operational for long periods of time. This might have a bit of an edge on those (being completely passive, and already trying to work on the issue of salt buildup clogging the system), but I got the feeling from reading the article that they hadn't figured out whether or not they could scale it beyond (essentially) a basic water collection service for very small communities, at least not yet.
Oh, absolutely. It took a bit until the tripping actually got the whole integration of the experience down. I actually went to interview for my current job about 2 days after a trip, still had that sense of perspective and it made it a much easier experience where I was able to keep myself rather calm, and I suspect that might have been one of the things that made everything work out in the end. Just to note, I’m not saying the psychodelics will solve all of your problems (still fixing quite a few I made over the last year while severely depressed), but they will often help you stay on the right track.
Shrooms. Started tripping, and within a month I actually was beginning to handle my depression, anxiety, subsequently got a good paying job (was burnt out for around a year after college), feel pretty decent about life, and am still kind of going through some aspects and improving my life. I kind of am of the opinion that if you you don’t have to worry about psychosis, trip at least once in your life (I’ve become that friend that recommends drugs, but for a reason). For some people, that can make an amazing amount of difference either in their personal life, or how they actually react to others. The biggest takeaway I got was how to actually listen to other on more than a just surface level without really trying.
Well, maybe you’ll get lucky, nothing really to lose by it.
That sucks about the greens though, they’re such a good way to provide some variety to your diet. Hopefully there will be plenty closer to the end of the season.
Good luck with the corporate app, the ones that suck really always need help (sometimes it’s a mess, but if they’re paying it wouldn’t be too huge a deal). I always have loved making some good salads from garden greens (I have always enjoyed gardening, so I would get cheap seeds from dollar general or a feed store), generally pretty quick and easy to clean up after. Does your nearby food bank have any greens?
Just started a new job a few weeks ago, feels super nice to be able to get groceries without constantly budgeting on everything. I was in a similarly financially quarantined situation to yourself for about a year (honestly that term might be the best way to put it), so it is a really nice change. This weekend I have been doing some repairs, some grocery shopping, and am hoping to trip tomorrow, provided I have an empty house (still live with my parents until I can earn enough to go lease somewhere).
Please don’t, the misunderstanding is common, and it just reinforces the point of the rebuttal. I’ve seen sooo many anti CP laws trying to be forced through congress, but most of it is just bullshit surveillance or drm stuff but it gets the support from people like you who (understandably) hear about the propagation of CP and support stopping it via those laws.
Or hiking! I have read a frankly ridiculous amount of audiobooks while doing other stuff like exercising. It also lowers my anxiety and can help a bit with depression (if that is anyone’s issue).
Should work the same, so long as you cut smallish holes on the autoclave bags the moisture will remain pretty decent. The more finicky bit is making sure there is enough FAE (fresh air exchange) as well. Would open the bags at least once a day, fan it, mist and close back. Also, not really much of a winter project, more of a late spring through autumn one.
I love eating lions mane as well (taste and medicinal properties), also king blue oysters seem to be the most reliable strain I currently have. Lions mane can be used as a sub for crab, or you can press it for a steak sub. King blue oysters are a relatively newly bred strain, good oyster taste with maybe a hint of shrimp. I generally either fry mushies in butter with some salt and pepper, or actually follow a recipe if I’m trying anything more complex. If you are planning to grow them, the main equipment is start with is a pressure cooker for sterilizing spawn (I use a wild bird seed tek for my grain jars). Then just use hardwood fuel pellets and pasteurize them with boiling water in an autoclavable bag for when moving to bulk.
Hiking, kayaking, swimming, gardening, and mycology! I love growing Gourmet mushies to eat, as I’m vegetarian and some of the varieties I grow I can’t get in my area easily. It’s not too hard for some basic mushrooms (blue and pink oysters are where I’d start), and it is fascinating to see the mycelium grow.
Out of curiosity, how likely do you expect those reddit mods to move to lemmy? I see a bunch of retiring mods posts, but not many that have said they were moving here.
