No! Wait!
This, but completely serious!
Get Brent Spiner and Levar Burton, who are still very good friends, and greenlight a low budget (same look and feel as their holodeck episodes) series where they reenact Sherlock Holmes stories in a period-accurate, family-friendly format.
And Brent plays half the characters in each story, in addition to Sherlock Holmes. And Levar does a Reading Rainbow style summary of the book at the end of each episode.
If I was loaded, I would cold-call both of them TOMORROW!
Crowd fund?
I’m in.
I dunno about “family friendly”. They’re almost all murder mysteries, not to mention that many are gruesome. Also, There are a lot of other, let’s say, “adult” elements in them, too. Sex, drugs, violence.
We show it. We show it all.
Full. Penetration.
This is going to be unpopular, but I am always taken slightly out of my being invested in the Sherlock Holmes TNG episodes by the fact that LeVar Burton can do a better British accent than Brent Spiner, but Data should be able to do it perfectly.
You’d think, but being rubbish at accents feels like it falls in line with other seemingly arbitrary limitations Data has, like being unable to use contractions or fake a convincing laugh.
I suppose you could argue that.
Alright, fuck it. I’m arguing it.
I look forward to the 3 hour HBomberguy video about why the writing for this show is not only terrible but also insulting to androids and the blind.
Unless it gets… wait for it… Sherblocked. Hrm, maybe not quite worth the wait? :-D
no shit
