22 minutes long, but still very interesting.

The beatboxing segment was pretty impressive he should’ve done that during his campaign.

What on earth does the USA stand to gain from this genocide? Is it oil? Is it to maintain an alliance in the middle east? Do they just want to see the entirety of Gaza made into rubble and dust?

It’s the strategic position in the Middle East, primarily. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Israel intentionally provoked Iran as a way of saying to the US “you still need us”.

It’s not so much about what the US stands to gain as it is maintaining a longstanding political and military relationship. No country ends such relationships quickly, although there are signs that the relationship is weakening. Times are changing.

Sunk cost fallacy situation. They helped bring Israel up and have made god knows how much supplying them with weapons and setting up the iron dome.

The moment they consider making any definitively negative decisions regarding Israel’s stance on the war, it’ll be “antisemitic” and shit will fly.

      Nothing really, it’s a lose-lose.

In terms of geopolitical strategy, Turkey could serve the same kind of function as Israel in terms of aiding the US in projecting regional influence.

And then morally, obviously, there is no case to be made for supporting Israel.

I guess the only real consideration is that Israel has nukes, but then so does North Korea, China, Russia etc.

This is purely ideological for Biden. If it was strategic his staffers likely wouldn’t be resigning, but they recognize that this is a product of fantacism.

What do they have to lose? In a year everyone will have forgotten about this issue and no one on the left is going to change their vote over this.

Decades long Us foreign policy isn’t going to change because some university students saw the war on tiktok.

The only people who benefit from this issue dictating us foreign policy is the right because they can harp on how bad it is and try get people to spite vote against Biden. If Biden actually changes his policy they can point to Biden and say look how weak he is he abandoned our ally and the right wing voter base will be strengthen.
