The plan is that I’ll take her to Deer Park in Wisconsin, her favorite place on earth. (Its a petting zoo, but with deer) My family knows, and they know I really struggle with deception, so last weekend they called my gf and mentioned they were going on vacation in August. All they had to do was say thay the resort was 5 minutes away from deer park, and she was on board.

I was having fun sending her into happiness seizures with the words “five minutes away from the deer” when I made the mistake of saying “you’re going to be the happiest princess in the whole world” because or the deer coming up to her and eating out of her hand.

Gf: “No, that’ll be when you propose to me!” realization, turns and makes eye contact “Is that when you’ll propose to me?”

Me: “. . . Yes.”
