Hey all! Just wanted to shout out the app we are working on for Lemmy on iOS. We love Apollo and took lots of inspiration from it, but also have a lot of our own twists on the experience (Federation has it’s own twists on top of a single website!).

We are actively pushing updates a few times a week right now and building up a solid foundation if “1.0” features to submit to the app store in the coming weeks/months.

Personally it’s be a great excuse to learn Swift, SwiftUI and iOS development in general. What a blast!

Sign up for the Test Flight today before it fills up!

Yup, this is Apollo carbon copy alright. And I LOVE IT. I was honestly worries since my experience with webapps was less than stellar for a while, they’re trash at best. But this is surprisingly fluid and feels close to a native app. I’ve both Mlem app and this, and so far this has HEAPS more features backed in and the only advantage Mlem has over it is that it is an app.

I’m trying a few apps, as well as MIam, but the one thing I miss from all of them is the Apollo condensed mode, a la old Reddit, but smarter. I think the first that scratches that itch will keep me as a customer.

it might be the closest from an ui/ux point of view but it still has a lot of issues with posts, messages, commentaries not loading.

But it is one to keep an eye on, I’ll give it that.

Top Tip for anyone reading: Definitely “install” it to your home screen; it makes the gestures work so much better.

It’s a web app. Just follow the instructions to put it on your home screen and launch it from there.

First you need to download the TestFlight app from the App Store if you don’t already have it. Then, on the GitHub page, click the link that says “click here and join the group”. After that you will be able to install the app from TestFlight. Later, they will have a stable release in the App Store, and you should be able to switch over to that then, if you like.

I can’t log in, it keeps saying: Mlem couldn’t fetch you account’s information. File a bug report.

slemmy has a lot of issues but it is looking good.

Still using memmy which has the best functionality and less issues so far, but it definitely can improve on its ui design and borrow a thing or two from lemmy

Any idea when the official launch will be? I know Testflight is pretty easy to set up, but I’ll probably wait till I can get v 1.0.

It’s actually a very solid app. Haven’t had any issues with it. Obviously it’s missing some things, but the stuff already there is working.

I am wondering if you are going to streamline the signup process like they do on the official Mastodon app?

I’m liking it so far. Looking forward to adding more customization and appearance settings
