Is it even an English word? I knew a Chinese guy named Bong once.
“Bong” is an English word, but it has Thai origins. It’s pretty common in other Asian languages like Mandarin, Filipino, Vietnamese. TBH I knew that but I wasn’t sure about the actual meaning, so I looked it up…
and of course, it does refer to the kind of bong you smoke out of 🌿 lol
The current Philippines presidents nickname is Bong Bong.
There’s also the acclaimed S. Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho
